Camins Vius
Walking around the National Park
Camins Vius was a route created as an initiative of nature tourism which helps to recover, value, signal and preserve the historical roads that surround the National Park of Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici for hiking.
This route of 238 km will lead you through the regions: Alta Ribagorça, Val d’Aran, Pallars Sobirà and Pallars Jussà, in order to experience the impressive landscapes of the Catalan Pyrenees, enjoy their culture and get to know more about their history.
This route is a must-do for all mountain hiking enthusiasts who want to discover the beauty of ancient and less traveled paths. It is a self-guided route therefore you only carry a light daypack each day. In the evenings, you enjoy the Catalan cuisine and hospitality in the village or hut we stay in.
The departure points vary according to the expectations of the visitors and the duration of the trekking. You can start your hiking from the towns of Vielha, Espot or Boí and the duration ranges from 5 to 9 days in journeys of 6 to 8 hours.
